The World Championships of Beach Ultimate start in Royan on Sunday, only three days from now, and final preparations on the beach are well under way.
As these photos show, gazebos and marquees have been erected, lines have been marked out, and a stand is also in progress on the show field.The broadcast equipment will be set up tomorrow ready to bring games to a worldwide audience, while the rest of the pitches and the player lounge will be ready in the coming days.
The first games have even taken place! A few teams have already arrived and volunteers are beginning to turn up to lend a hand with the build up. According to Amandine, the Tournament Director, by tomorrow evening most of the main venue will be ready.

Over the next few days this beach will start to become much busier, and at 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon the first pull of the tournament will go up. Until then, the hard work for the TOC will continue to make sure that Royan is ready for Ultimate players from across the globe to arrive.
